8000 steel ball bearings tumbled round cement mixers programmed on timers to indeterminately turn on and off. One programmed for one minute on and off, the second, two minutes on two minutes off and the third for three on and three off. The sound emitted was evasive, forcefully penetrating the senses and resonating over the damn and through the bush. When the cycles aligned the presence of the inactivity's silence was an overwhelming relief felt throughout the entire body.
